FLORIDA SUMMER STRINGS

Edition 2024

Musicfor Americas and Musicfor International, are pleased to present chamber orchestra performances during its 2024 Summer Strings Festival. The Italian Artistic Director, Lorenzo Turchi-Floris, will be in residence to conduct the orchestral performances, all of which will feature French violinist, Charlotte Orcel as soloist. Graduated of the Haute École de Musique of Geneva, laureate of the Pierre Vidoudez Prize, and supported by the Lalive Foundation of Geneva, she performs in international festivals and with orchestras around the world, and artists such as Nelson Freire and Nigel Kennedy among others. Her passion and devotion to teach in the humanitarian field includes the NEOJIBA program in Brazil, and the Conservatory of Music Edward Said in Palestine.

A multifaceted artist, Lorenzo Turchi-Floris is also recognized on the international music scene as a pianist and composer who has performed with national symphony orchestras on 4 continents and at numerous international festivals. His recordings have been broadcast on RAI in Italy, among others. The Musicfor Americas String Orchestra will perform on August 25 at 3 p.m. at the  United Church of Christ in Fort Lauderdale, playing music by Puccini, Dvorak, Beethoven, Holst, Puccini, Prokofiev and Vivaldi’s Summer and Winter from his famous “Four Seasons.” Charlotte and Lorenzo will perform as a duo (violin-piano) joining the morning service at the United Church of Christ in Fort Lauderdale on August 18 and at the Riverside Hotel in Fort Lauderdale on August 16 and 23.
