When music is expressed with magic in its truest essence...
Summer Strings 2026
A MUSICAL JOURNEY SHAPED BY A UNIQUE ARTIST
The festival program unfolds under the artistic direction of Lorenzo Turchi Floris – pianist, composer and conductor – whose rare combination of roles brings exceptional unity and artistic vision to the performance. Under his leadership, the Musicfor Americas String Orchestra performs as a single expressive voice, distinguished by refinement, vitality and stylistic versatility.
The QuartettOrfeo is the Festival’s guest ensemble; its members – Charlotte Orcel, Barbara Kammer, Adele Napoli and Ilaria Altan Calabrò – will appear as soloists with the orchestra and will also present several quartet concerts during the festival.
The program offers a broad panorama of the string repertoire: from the luminous elegance of Dvořák’s Serenade for Strings to the intimate lyricism of Tchaikovsky’s Nocturne for viola and strings, from the poetic beauty of Saint-Saëns’ The Swan to the evocative cinematic atmosphere of Morricone, featuring solo violin and cello accompanied by the strings. As a composer, Turchi Floris also presents his Tempo di Concerto for piano and strings, leading the ensemble directly from the keyboard in a vivid dialogue marked by energetic rhythms and virtuosity.
The presence of the four QuartettOrfeo soloists enriches this musical journey, alternating lyricism, brilliance and virtuosity. The eclectic program will culminate with Saint-Saëns’ Introduction et Rondo Capriccioso for violin and orchestra, followed by the vibrant dances of Warlock’s Capriol Suite, performed by the full string orchestra for a grand finale.
