Musicfor America musicians and educators provided small-group instruction for elders at John Knox Village, a senior living community in Pompano Beach, Florida whose residents are lifelong learners. Participants learned the basics of this delightful instrument and some easy holiday repertoire on ukuleles provided by MusicFor America to JKV and shared their enthusiasm with residents of JKV’s Memory Care facilities.
The residents of John Knox Village who participated in the Ukulele instruction got a chance to share what they’d learned with young scholars at the School, a neighboring charter school. Third-graders joined the elders for a “lunch-and-learn” presentation by MusicFor America musicians and an interactive jam session on ukes, with simple introductory directions on how to make music with ukuleles.
